1788 - ironstone ores were found on the premises of Count Tomasz Ostrowski`s estate (near today`s Tomaszow)
1789 - the name KuŸnice Tomaszowskie appears in written documents for the first time
1812 - the palace of Ostrowki family was built in Tomaszow Mazowiecki (today, it is the Regional Museum)
1822 - on October 1 a document on conditions of settlementin the town came out
1824 - the town is given the status of an industrial and commercial establishment
1830 - on July 6 Tomaszow was given civic rights
1850 - 1900 - the period of growing prosperity of the town
1919 - the Tomaszow Worsted Yarn Spinning-mill was started with a help of English capital; the town started educating its residents
1928 - the Public Library was opened
1938 - organisation of municipal archives began
1949 and 1986 - the town`s territory was successively enlarged
